The single most impactful decision I made in my life was to quit playing video games.
Like most people my age (23) playing video games was a huge part of my life growing up. I lived through a transitional time where playing football outside with friends slowly turned into playing FIFA sat inside.
5 years ago, I had just finished school and there was a long summer break before I went off to university to study graphic design. I spent most of my time inside, playing video games for 12 hours a day, for a month.
The excitement I used to get from playing video games was gone and I realised It was a complete waste of time and energy. I began to understand that if I spent the same amount of time on something beneficial I could drastically improve my life.
I slowly began to replace my time playing call of duty with reading, exercise, calligraphy, and content creation. This changed my life beyond anything I could have imagined.
I have nothing against video games, I still occasionally play a few games of Fortnite. I just wanted to share my story with hopes that it resonates with someone out there looking for more out of life.
