  • First week of @neufitrfp training done ✅ and we’re heading into week two. 🙌🏻 This past week I also started loosely tracking again, making overall better food decisions, had kick ass training sessions and added back in my 10 minute post meal walks. 🏃🏻‍♀️ . Right now my goal is muscle and prioritizing that through hard training, proper recovery and calories. I’m eating high protein, high carb and moderate fat. The last one is the hardest for me... damn I love me some fats AND carbs together but that is a recipe for disaster in my body. . While I still have plenty of flexibility, I’m getting back into the groove of more structure to make the most of these gainssss. 💪🏻 Reminder that “life” and “holidays” hit us all, in different ways, so it’s important to be honest with yourself and get back after it; no matter what day or week it might be. ☺️ . Now I’m equally as excited and cannot wait to train in here together. 💪🏻 . Everything besides the floor mats and two benches was found used between Offer Up, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. Besides being hard headed, Ry is also the deals master and legit drove all over Florida to get some of this shit. 😂 . Spin bike Manual treadmill Texas squat bar 2 barbells Safety squat bar Trap bar Farmer handles Olympic plate loaded dumbbells @elitefts squat rack + Swiss multi grip pull up attachment @repfitnessequipment competition and incline bench High/low plate loaded row @roguefitness reverse hyper Sled 1400+ pounds of plates 😳 Bands, chains, hip circles... We hit a plateau or aren’t seeing the progress we hoped for & we just want to give up. That moment right there is the moment many people quit. - Why? Because it’s easy. - It’s easy to let those negative emotions get the best of you. It’s easy to fall victim to your circumstances.   • DO WAIST TRAINERS REALLY WORK?🧐 FIRST let me start out with my own experience. Believe it or not, I used to wear a waist trainer when I first started working out because I have always been self conscious about my waist being ‘thick’. Long story short, I started getting sharp pains in my stomach when I would wear it for more than a couple of hours, so I decided it wasn’t worth wearing. After not wearing it for a week, any progress I made in my waist went completely back to normal. According to actual research, waist trainers are only a TEMPORARY fix. Like I said, as soon as you stop wearing it your waist will return to normal. This could be worth it to some people, but let’s talk about the risks: 1️⃣ waist trainers can actually decrease core strength 2️⃣ it restricts your mobility... aka you can’t workout in one 3️⃣ it reduces the ability to take deep breaths, depriving your body of oxygen 4️⃣ it can damage vital organs and cripple your digestive system Overall, stay away from waist trainers! Unless having a temporary small waist is worth risking your life for, it’s not worth it🤷🏻‍♀️

  • I used to hate yoga. True story. 🤷‍♀️I thought it was boring and I didn’t connect with the experience. However, in the last few years I have changed my mind. Years of lifting heavy left my body bound up and tight. I craved something different. I began to follow a couple YouTube yoga instructors and slowly became a fan. This past weekend I had an incredible experience with these wonderful people learning to teach yoga. Our instructor infused our training with energy, passion and personal experience. I’m excited to see what new doors this will open for myself and others.   • Cardio before or after you lift? 🏃🏻‍♀️ . To be honest, there’s no perfect answer here. The biggest determinant of when you should do cardio is based on your goals. . Are you prioritizing muscle building? Fat loss? Cardiovascular event? . If you’re prioritizing muscle building, resistance training is most important and cardio becomes less of a priority. Light cardio can improve recovery and also keep body composition in check, but should not be your priority. 💪🏻 . If you’re prioritizing fat loss, diet is most important. I’d continue to argue that resistance training is still more important (as far as priorities go) than cardio but cardio will increase to increase the deficit. 🍴 . If you’re prioritizing a cardiovascular event, then it’s pretty clear that cardio should come before resistance training. 💦 . In a perfect world, clients can split up cardio from resistance training all together. It’s painful at times. But it is oh so worth it. ✨ . Do you expect to get a lean body by doing easy shit? No. If it was easy, everyone would freaking do it. . We have to get comfortable being uncomfortable. That is where we grow. That is where we allow ourselves to get closer and closer to the man or woman God wills us to be. . I’m all for it as long as you are controlled and actually still feeling the muscle you’re working. 😊 . This was a little bicep 💪🏻 finisher @karinanoboa showed me. Do cable curls then finish off with the bicep focused pulls (no idea what else to call these lol!) to really light yo shit up. 🔥 .
