this is just a throwback but I could eat it any day! 👅 maca is known for boosting energy, improving mood and fighting free radicals. 💥 .
- 1 cup of (sprouted) oats
- 2 cups of plant milk
- 3 finely chopped dates
- a big tbsp of maca powder .

waffles for two ✨ I treated myself to a new waffle iron last week & I couldn’t wait to try it out 🤗 good bye sticky mess 👋🏼 I made these chocolate teff waffles with a friend for breakfast yesterday & they turned out sooo well!! 🙌🏼 (recipe below) we ate them with chia pudding, lots of fruit & the eeeeasiest chocolate sauce (cacao powder, rice syrup, coconut yogurt) 🍫 I always thought I’d like pancakes more but I guess I have to overthink that now 🥞 what about you? pancakes or waffles? hope you‘ve had a wonderful start into the new week! ❤️
glutenfree chocolate teff waffles:
- 1 1/2 cups teff flour - 2 tbsps chia flour
- 1-2 cups of chocolate rice milk
- 2tsps baking powder
- 2tbsps cacao powder
- 1tbsp rice syrup

How yummy does this look?
It honestly tastes like a little piece of heaven on a plate!
I don’t get much time with my husband without one of our children being present too, so we decided to take an hour out of our day just to spend a bit of quality time and went on a breakfast date, it was so lovely just to chat, totally uninterrupted even if we did chat non stop about the children!
We love our children with everything we have but a bit of time together was just what we needed xx
When you’re fed up of having sausages and eggs and want to rekindle your love for your desi roots (or want to experience a desi culture) get yourself down to @chaiiwala. We were VERY VERY satisfied with our breakfast. As soon as you walk in, the decor is intimate and inviting and rings a lovely desi vibe. The menu is simple and the meals actually make sense. Pictured above is the Desi breakfast, which comes with a side of beans or dhaal (we got one of each) and a choice of roti, paratha or toast. You get a masala omelette and we also ordered a side of masala chips because it’s never too early for chips. For drinks, you get a delicious cup of Karak chai. All for such a reasonable price. The parathas were hot, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The dhaal was much different to what we’re used to at home but we actually loved it - the consistency was perfect for the paratha, it could’ve done with a spicier kick but great nonetheless. Beans and paratha is a master-stroke - the sauciness of the beans coupled with the hot paratha was gorgeous and if you manage to get a bit of the omelette into your bite, you get a beautifully spicy mouthful of egg and beans perfection - like a mini English breakfast in your mouth with a desi twist. Based on the smell of the Karak chai, we were worried that it would be super strong - the spices were evident from a mile off but actually, it was the best chai we’ve had in a while. The chai is perfectly milky, it’s only got the hint of spice so it’s very subtle but it’s so needed for this meal because it rounds off all of the flavours. The masala chips were pretty damn good too, the actual sauce was very good but the chips felt a little cold - maybe because we were too busy with our mains.
