I’m so good at making excuses not to go running... yesterday I had to wait for my kit to dry and today I forgot to charge my watch. I do (most of the time) eventually go out though and today I needed to pop to town anyway to get a new water bottle after I left mine in the gym. So once my watch had a bit of charge I got myself off the sofa and went straight out before I could change my mind. .
I’m so lucky to have Newcastle quayside only 1 Mile from my doorstep so I get to run with these views. Today I ran along the quayside and back to the bridge rather than all the way into town as I didn’t want to attempt to run huge hills up from the quayside.
It was a nice easy 5k today and getting slightly better at managing my pace too. Rest day tomorrow and have my long run Friday. .
I don’t have any more runs on my schedule after Friday but I might fit one in over the weekend after work then that’ll be week 3 done. Only 11 weeks to go. .
Working hard on a “surprise” for all of you!😏😏😏
ANY IDEA WHAT THE SURPRISE IS? 🎁🎁🎁
And we’re really excited about our next upcoming fitness challenge where we’ll be running/walking our SECOND 5K!!! This time for Spina Bifida awareness. Who’s gonna be there and support us?
First run of the year! Not my best time, but not bad for spending 10 days in mexico and not running outside for like 6 months ! @barensanji@devonlaanstra should we start the competition again this year ?
Sorry guys, I forgot to post my run from yesterday again 🤦🏻♀️ .
I ran 3 miles yesterday with my kids in the jogging stroller and did not feel super sore after it! I ran it at a 12 minute pace, and normally running a 5K it takes me about 36 minutes and I feel awful after but yesterday it felt like an easy jog! .
I took today off from working out and order two new pairs of running shoes online. I also got new stroller tires too! Unfortunately the weather looks like crap the next few days so it’ll be fun on the dread-mill 😂

This year's #5KRun/Walk is a #DonorDash, focused on raising awareness for UW Organ and Tissue Donation, #DonateLifeWisconsin. Today in the U.S., nearly 114,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant. More than 2,300 of our family, friends and co-workers wait in Wisconsin. Every 10 minutes, a new name is added to the list, and 22 people will die today because they didn't get the organ they needed to survive in time. You can donate now here: 💭 We're moved by our WHY: Andy Nelesen had a tragic end in 2010 with a hemorrhaged blood vessel in his brain. At 38 his passing was much too soon. Andy felt strongly about organ donation and gave everything he could. He wished to donate his organs in order for others to improve their quality of life. As an award-winning journalist in Green Bay and member of the community Andy took pride in everything including a passion for local live music.
Andy was a man of integrity and care that was great by many measures. His final gift was his organs. Through this event we hope we will be able to achieve a greater level of awareness in the community for the benefit of organ donation. 💭Help us bring more awareness to this event and cause by sharing your personal WHY!
The ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run is a 10K/5K race that leads up to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) Parade each year since 1988. The race benefits the HLSR Educational Fund. Nearly $5 million dollars have been raised since the race’s inception. .
It was my second timed 5K and our first time watching the HLSR Parade. It was definitely an enjoyable experience for my mom and I. .
As I prepare for my next race, next exam, next challenge - I am reminded that nothing is impossible. And I aim to prove it to myself daily. Hopefully, you believe it for yourself too. .

After a non eventful week. Nothing screams better than a large gin in my funky glass to make the gin go down that much funnier on what I’m calling my gin Thursday! Especially after a 5k run, not my fastest overall. But I did achieve my fastest km run at 5mins 45secs. This would’ve been my personal best if I didn’t slack on the 4th km which took me longer than I thought. As all my other km runs average was my fastest and I wouldn’t done this in 30mins. Next time need to push myself harder. #ginthursdays#ginthursday#5ktraining#5krun#fitness#running#personalbest#mapmyrun

Last weekend, we kicked off our 2019 wellness initiative at The Run to Remember 5K! 💨
Our staff loves participating in local runs and walks, which often raise money for causes they support, so we incorporated them into our wellness program this year. 🏃🏃♀️ Ridgers Joan, Jodie and Joelle participated, with Joan winning 1st place in her age group. Way to go, Joan! 🥇
What type of wellness program or initiative does your company have? p.s. Don't forget the healthy snacks and portion-controlled sweets!
